Iowa Man Charged With Murder in Morgan Park Shooting

An Iowa man has been arrested and charged in connection with shooting death of a 28-year-old woman in Morgan Park, according to a Chicago Sun-Times report.
Darrick Wells, 36, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was arrested in his home state Sept. 15, and Chicago police took him into custody Tuesday, the report stated. He has been charged with first-degree murder, and his bond hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, the report added.

Wells is accused of shooting Claudia Mister, of the 10600 block of South Church Street, several times with a handgun while she was standing with friends at around 2:48 a.m. Sept. 3 in the 1600 block of West 115th Street, police said.

Mister, of the 10600 block of South Church Street, was hospitalized at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. She later died from her injuries.
