Jake Newton is one of many young professional choosing to follow a career path into public safety. Newton, a recent graduate of both the Advocate Christ Paramedic Program and Romeoville Fire Academy, has already landed jobs as a firefighter/paramedic with the Homewood Fire Department and as a paramedic for the Lifeline Ambulance Company.
Newton, an Oak Lawn resident, is committed to a life-long career as a first responder.
Newton graduated from St. Rita High School in 2011. Several of Newton’s classmates and peers are finding career challenges and job satisfaction in the public safety arena and anticipate greater opportunity in the coming year as the Chicago Fire Department tests potential firefighters for the first time since 2006.
