Joey's Red Hots Gets Warm Welcome In Morgan Park

Hot dog lovers were thrilled to see a new stand open in the neighborhood at 115th and Western.

CHICAGO, IL - Their building had been painted red and yellow for months and their logo popped up in several places around the neighborhood in recent weeks, and now their hot dogs are ready. And good. The hot dogs are very good.

After much hype, Joey's Red Hots opened for business Monday morning at the southwest corner of 115th and Western. Public officials, store owners and others joined the mascot for the Windy City Thunderbolts for a ribbon cutting ceremony shortly after it opened.

By lunchtime, the new neighborhood restaurant was packed with hot dog lovers.

Joey's is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and from 10 a.m. until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Take a look at the inside of the restaurant, complete with historical photos of Chicago, a TV and red stools.

Outdoors, you'll find a hot dog statue wrapped with an American flag and red tables and chairs.
