Jordan Lynch Waived by the Chicago Bears
Mount Greenwood native says he "gave 100 percent" as his hometown team tried him out at running back.

Alas, a Mount Greenwood native will not be on the Chicago Bears final roster. Jordan Lynch was waived by the Bears on Friday, and sources told the Chicago Sun-Times no promises were made about picking him up for the practice squad.
Lynch, a star quarterback at Northern Illinois University, was given a tryout at running back during Bears camp. On Thursday, he rushed six times for 18 yards in the final exhibition game. The Mount Carmel High School grad also played on special teams, and in May the coaches said outstanding special teams play was Lynch’s best shot at making the team.
Head coach Marc Trestman said Lynch’s special teams transition was “tough.”

“I made the most of my opportunities,” Lynch told the Sun-Times. “I got a lot of reps on special teams and that’s something new to me. … I went out there every day and gave 100 percent in practice.”
