Lindy's Gertie's Space Up For Lease: What Should Go Here?

The space at 110th and Kedzie that housed Lindy's Chili and Gertie's Ice Cream for years could use a new tenant.

CHICAGO (MT. GREENWOOD) — A spot that for years served as a community gathering place on Kedzie Avenue in Mount Greenwood could soon have a new purpose. A "For Lease" sign is in the window of the retail space that was the longtime home of Lindy's Chili and Gertie's Ice Cream.

The sign says the property is for retail or office space, and can be divided.

The property owner hasn't returned a call for comment on whether or not any business has inquired about the opportunity, but that doesn't mean we can't give our opinions on what we'd like to see occupy the space at 11009 S. Kedzie Ave., right across from the Mt. Greenwood branch of the Chicago Public Library.
