Longtime Brother Rice Principal Jim Antos To Retire

Brother Rice has already promoted Assistant Principal Bob Alberts to replace Antos as principal.

CHICAGO, IL - Longtime Brother Rice High School Principal Jim Antos will retire at the end of this school year. Antos has been in the leadership role at the all-boys Catholic high school in Mount Greenwood for more than 20 years, according to a report from The Beverly Review. He first became principal during the second semester of the 1997-98 school year.

In all, he's been with the school as a teacher for 39 years.

The school announced that Assistant Principal Bob Alberts will replace Antos as principal beginning on July 1. Moving into the assistant principal role will be Karen Van Assen, a Mother McAuley and Saint Xavier University alum whose worked at Brother Rice for 23 years in various roles.

Alumni will be invited back to the campus on June 10 to celebrate Antos' career.
