Lost Cat In Mt. Greenwood Is Neighborhood Man's Travel Buddy

A Mount Greenwood man is distraught after his beloved "Marci" ran away from their home on Kedzie Avenue.

CHICAGO, IL - A Mount Greenwood man has been distraught this week after finding out his beloved cat went missing in the neighborhood. Noah Rekart says his cat, Marci ran away from their home on Kedzie Avenue on Sunday and has not been seen since.

"I'm just devastated," said Rekart, whose nearly 4-year-old cat has been his travel companion in recent years. "She's traveled thousands of miles around the world with me."

Marci was last seen wearing a purple, sparkly collar with a bell and flea collar. She has gray fur with some lighter tabby-like stripes and a little creamy patch of white fur right over her heart.

Rekart says Marci is smaller than average cats and still has claws as "she's been a house cat her whole life." She's also very nervous and runs when scared.

"I loved this cat like I would my own daughter," he said. "Her and I have been through the worst of times, but have always managed to come out on top."
