Marist Hosts Evening of Alumni Reunions and Awards

Marist reunions feature hall of fame inductions and awards at Chicago Gaelic Park on March 24.

CHICAGO, IL -- Marist High School will host an evening of reunions with old friends and awards dinner at Chicago Gaelic Park in Oak Forest on Friday, March 24. The night will include Hall of Fame inductions, Time & Eternity Award presentations, and reunions for the classes of 1967, 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, and 2002. All alumni and friends are welcome.

The awards ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. This year’s Hall of Fame inductees are Kate Grunauer Ferguson ’06 (Mt. Greenwood) for accomplishments with the basketball program, the late track and cross country standout John Guldan ’68 who was killed in Vietnam, John Mooney ’68 (Walnut Creek, Ca.) for his notable records as a baseball and football player, Jim Ryan ’72 (Darien, Ill.) for his career as a college football referee, and Patrick Wrona ’96 (Lakeview) for his wrestling success.

Time & Eternity Awards will also be given to alumni who exemplify the Marist tradition of excellence either professionally or in service. This year’s recipients are Sean Connolly ’92 (Burr Ridge, Ill.) for his military service, Carl England ’72 (Oak Lawn, Ill.) for his vocation as a music minister, Jerry Joyce ’87 (Beverly) for his dedication to Marist and the community, Pat Malloy ’67 (Beverly) for his devotion to Catholic education, and Tom Skalitzky ’82 (Evergreen Park) for his dedication to Marist and Catholic education.

After the awards and inductions, reunions will begin at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $75 per person, and includes three- hour premium open bar, appetizers, and dinner buffet. Tickets and event details are available on the Marist website or by calling 773-881-5374.
