Marist Student-Athletes Sign College Letters
Seven student-athletes from Marist High School sign letters of intent to continue athletic careers on college level in signing ceremony.

Seven student-athletes from Marist High School participated in a signing ceremony before parents, coaches and school administrators on Dec. 20. The seniors will continue their athletic careers on the collegiate level. The students represent the communities of Mt. Greenwood, Matteson, Evergreen Park, Orland Park, South Holland and Oak Lawn.
Jenna Ford (Mt. Greenwood), a lacrosse goalie, will attend and play for Aurora University. She is a three-year varsity player and is ranked thirteenth in Illinois for goalies. Teammate Taylor Nesbitt (Oak Lawn) will continue her career at Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Mich. A midfield/defense player, she was voted most valuable player by her club New Wave Lacrosse.
Marist running back Delonte Harrell (Matteson) will attend and football at Cornell University. His accolades include 2017 East Suburban Catholic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, 2017 and 2016 ESCC all-conference selection, 2017 Illinois High School Football Coaches Association (IHSFCA) Honorable Mention All-State, 2017 Champaign News-Gazette Special Mention 100, 2017 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown All-Area Second Team selection, and 2017 and 2016 IHSFCA Academic All-State Selection.

Tight end Turon "TJ" Ivy (Evergreen Park) will join the Indiana University football program next fall. Ivy was a 2017 Champaign News-Gazette First Team All-State tight end and a 2017 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown Honorable Mention All-Area player.

Michael Lawlor (Orland Park), a defensive back, will continue his career with the University of Chicago. Lawlor was a 2017 ESCC all-conference selection and a 2017 and 2016 IHSFCA Academic All-State selection.
Defensive lineman Gavin McCabe (Oak Lawn) will also attend and play for Indiana University. McCabe was the 2017 ESCC Co-Defensive MVP, 2016 ESCC Defensive Lineman of the Year, 2017 and 2016 ESCC All-Conference selection, 2017 IHSFCA First Team All-State, 2017 Champaign News-Gazette 1st team All-State, 2017 Chicago Sun-Times First Team All-Area selection, and 2017 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown All-Area First team.
Elijah Teague (South Holland), a lineman, will attend and play for the University of Minnesota. Teague was 2017 ESCC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year, 2017 IHSFCA Honorable Mention All State, 2017 Champaign News-Gazette First Team All-State, 2017 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown Second Team All-Area selection, 2017 and 2016 ESCC All-Conference selection, 2016 ESCC Defensive MVP, and 2016 Chicago Tribune/Daily Southtown Honorable Mention All-Area.
Marist is a member of the highly competitive East Suburban Catholic Conference and regularly garners local, state, and national accolades for its athletic program.
