McAuley Students, Sisters Make Easter Brighter for Homeless Children

Mother McAuley students and moms gather with Mercy Circle residents to make personalized Easter Baskets for homeless children and teens.

CHICAGO, IL -- Mercy Circle residents were joined by Mother McAuley High School students and their moms to create personalized Easter baskets for homeless youth sponsored by Margaret’s Village.

The baskets—with personal gift items and edible treats such as traditional chocolate eggs and jelly beans—signal the thoughts and prayers of the team assembling them for the families in crisis. All gifts and supplies have been purchased by the 19th Ward, Mother McAuley Mothers’ Club and Mercy Circle.

“We had a nice turnout and it was a nice way for our students and the Sisters to collaborate on a project which is sure to bring smiles to so many,” Mother McAuley spokeswoman Jennifer Busk said.
