McAuley Volleyball Star Signs With Notre Dame
Illinois Volleyball Player of the Year Charley Niego signed her official letter of intent with the University of Notre Dame on Thursday.
CHICAGO, IL - Mother McAuley senior volleyball player Charley Niego will go from one of the nation's most popular all-girls high schools to one of the nation's most prominent universities. The volleyball star who grew up in Beverly officially signed her letter of intent with Notre Dame University during a brief gathering with family and teammates at her high school on Thursday.
Niego was named the Gatorade Illinois Volleyball Player of the Year in January. Her signing has been two years in the waiting, as she first gave a verbal commitment to Notre Dame as a sophomore, according to a 2015 report from The Reporter.
