The Swing Era comes to life at an interactive murder mystery dinner hosted by Mercy Circle Saturday, April 13 at 115 Bourbon Street.
CHICAGO — Did the butler do it? Find out when the swing era comes to life as Mercy Circle hosts an evening of dinner and mystery Saturday, April 13. The evening starts with cocktails at 6 p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th St., Merrionette Park, with dinner to follow at 7 p.m. All proceeds benefit the residents of Mercy Circle.
Produced by Murder Mystery Company, the whodunit takes place inside a billionaire’s mansion when big band added flair to parties. Guests will be introduced to the characters and story to learn clues to solve the mystery. Additional clues can be purchased to support the fundraiser and give guests an advantage in solving the case.
The evening begins with actors mixing with the guests during the cocktail hour from 6 until 7 p.m. when they share clues. The performance begins during the first course of the dinner at breaks for guests to enjoy conversation. When dessert is served, it is time for guests to crack.

The theater department at Mother McAuley High School loaned costumes so the staff and servers can be a part of the action and 115 Bourbon Street set the scene, according to Mary Bannon, major gifts officer for Mercy Circle and organizer for this fundraiser.
“We are delighted to invite our neighbors and friends into our community for this benefit ,” says Bannon. “We thought planning an evening to get together to solve a mystery makes this evening fun for everyone.”
