'Monster' Babysitter Cracked Toddler's Skull: Police

A babysitting boyfriend beat an 18-month-old boy because he wouldn’t stop crying, cracking his skull and fracturing his ribs on Tuesday night, according to Chicago Police. The child lingered in agony for three days at Comer Children’s Hospital, suffering from internal bleeding, before dying on Friday afternoon.

Dantis Porter, 28, of the Englewood community in Chicago, was arrested after the boy’s mother came home from work Tuesday night and found her son slumped over in his stroller.

“I may get in trouble for saying this, but, sir, you are a monster,” Judge Adam Bourgeois told Porter on Friday, according to a DNAinfo Chicago report, and ordered him jailed without bail.

The child also suffered a lacerated spleen, broken ribs and burn marks to his body, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
