Morgan Park Academy Spring Musical Brings to Life the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
MPA Upper and Middle School students entertain a packed house with the unforgettable characters and stories of Mark Twain's classic novel.
Morgan Park Academy students entertained a packed house at Baer Theater on April 16-17 with two performances of “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” the school’s annual Upper School and Middle School musical.
Adapted from Mark Twain’s classic novel by William Hauptman and Roger Miller, the play featured bravura lead performances by seventh-grader Sofia Clute as Huck Finn and sophomore Journey Davis as Jim; dexterous comedy by junior Madi Delaney as the King, junior Zara Singh as the Duke, seventh-grader Matthew Dwyer as Tom Sawyer, and junior Will Callihan as Pap Finn; and standout vocal performances by sophomore Ashley Wilson, eighth-grader Maya Lopez, sixth-grader India Lopez, and seventh-grader Olga Mourgelas.
