Mount Greenwood Boy Helps Cubs' Anthony Rizzo Design Holiday Card
Cubs fan and pediatric cancer patient partners with Cubs first baseman to design card for Anthony Rizzo's Hopeful Holidays

CHICAGO, IL -- The Higgins Family of Chicago’s Mount Greenwood neighborhood is experiencing a holiday season that they will likely never forget.
That’s because 7-year-old Jack Higgins, a pediatric cancer patient who undergoes treatment at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, teamed up with Chicago Cubs star Anthony Rizzo to create a holiday card that is currently being sold at all Chicagoland Jewel-Osco stores. One hundred percent of proceeds will benefit the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation and Advocate Children’s Hospital.

The second-grader, along with his parents, grandparents and younger brother, Sean, recently spent the afternoon with Rizzo to talk baseball and create the card design. The festive card features Jack’s artwork and signatures from both him and the Cubs first baseman. Advocate Children’s Hospital and Jewel-Osco partnered to make the day extra special for the family by providing limousine transportation, toys, Cubs jerseys for Jack and Sean, catered lunch from Jewel-Osco and a big welcome from Clark the Cub.

A die-hard Cubs fan living in a predominately White Sox territory, Jack is often seen at the hospital wearing a big smile and Cubs apparel.
The holiday card will be sold at all Chicagoland Jewel-Osco locations from Dec. 3 through Dec. 31. All proceeds from sales of the colorful card will go to Advocate Children’s Hospital and the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation. Both organizations support children and families fighting cancer and help raise funds for cancer research and treatment.
