When and how did your business get started?
1879. Because of sandy soil and RR, the location was perfect for a cemetery.
What is your business best known for?
Graves, Niches, decorations for graves, markers, burial vaults.
Why did you choose the town you did to open your business?
The area needed a cemetery.
What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?
It's the oldest cemetery in the area, many famous people here, graves for sale, most reasonable priced in the area.
Here is a list of some of our famous burials: Col. George & Sarah Clarke, founders of the Pacific Garden Mission; Henry Clissold and Elizabeth Sutherland & Barnard Family, schools in area named after them.
Isabella Candee, first president of the Ilinois Federation of Woman's Clubs; William Morgan, member of the Morgan family which family name was the Morgan Park; Elks' rest, only one in Illinois.
Victims of the Crib Fire in 1909; John Vanderpoel, teacher at Art Institute; William French, first President of Art Institute; Dr. William German, first doctor in area; victims of the Iroquois Fire; Eastland & the 1918 flu Epidemic; Pony Bob, pony express rider; Rose and Budding family, meat business; George Airey, first police chief of Morgan Park; Joseph Macklin, started oyster bars; several Chicago Police and Fireman who have died in the line of duty.
