Mt. Greenwood Man Named Executive Director Of Special Olympics Chicago

Joseph Nagle is the new executive director of Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities.

CHICAGO, IL -- A Mount Greenwood man has been named the new executive director of Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities. Joseph Nagle, who has served on the SOC/SCC board of directors since 2013, will replace Susan Nicholl in the role.

Nagle will oversee and implement all Special Olympics Chicago special events, including the popular Chicago Polar Plunge according to a news release. He will be responsible for all fundraising efforts and securing corporate sponsorships to support programs and events.

“I am truly honored to be named Executive Director of this incredible organization that changes the lives of people with intellectual disabilities each and every day,” Nagle said.

Nagle, who was most recently a senior vice president and national director at JLL and a past director of operations at Millennium Park, will also be involved in planning the 50th anniversary celebration of Special Olympics in 2018.

“The Special Olympics Chicago program has received national and international attention throughout the last decade, with events such as our Spring Games and the Chicago Polar Plunge," he added. "I look forward to working with the Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools, our sister organizations, current and future sponsors, and most importantly our athletes, to bring the organization to the next level."
