Ned '70 And Celine Hughes Honorees At Mount Carmel Caravan Gala
Mount Carmel alumnus Ned '70 and Celine Hughes, will receive the St. Albert Award at the Caravan Gala, Saturday, Sept. 21.

CHICAGO — A 1970 alumnus and his wife will be the honorees at the 2024 Caravan Gala on Saturday, Sept. 21. Ned and Celine Hughes will be the recipients of this year’s St. Albert Award for their commitment to Mount Carmel High School, 6410 S. Dante Ave., Chicago.
Ned and Celine have expressed their unwavering love of Mount Carmel over a long period of time through their philanthropic generosity to Mount Carmel High School and to the Mount Carmel Educational Foundation. Ned has served exceptionally well as a long-time committee and board member of both the foundation and the school, the first lay president of Mount Carmel and the driving force behind campus enhancements and modernization.
Notably, these include renovations to classrooms in the main building and construction of Barda-Dowling Stadium. His tireless efforts have set the table for a thriving future for Mount Carmel and a new era of growth for the foundation's endowment. Celine's support of Ned has been reflective of her own deep commitment to the South Side Catholic boys high school’s mission. The Caravan Gala supports the Mount Carmel Educational Foundation.
