Park District Chief, Radio Figure Will Get Special Olympics Honor

Mike Kelly and Mitch Rosen, both Beverly residents, will be recognized for their support of the Special Olympics Chicago program.

CHICAGO, IL - A pair of Beverly residents will be honored at a Special Olympics Chicago reception next month. Chicago Parks District Superintendent Mike Kelly and Mitch Rosen, the operations director at 670 The Score will be recognized for their efforts to support the Special Olympics program during an event at the Carnivale Restaurant, 702 Fulton Market from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 5.

Kelly "has helped to grow the Special Olympics programs to 23 parks throughout the city," according to a news release. Rosen has provided "immeasurable support" to the 7,500 athletes involved in the program and has helped drive attendance to the annual Spring Games held by the organization.

Both honorees have also participated in the Chicago Polar Plunge, the organization's largest yearly fundraiser held in early March.

The event to honor Kelly and Rosen will double as a fundraiser for Special Olympics Chicago. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased here.
