A 16-year-old girl who was born blind wanted to attend a Chicago Blackhawks game at the United Center for the first time. Such a fan, this has been Christina DeVries’s dream. She finally made her way to the ice, thanks to a surprise granted through the team’s #WhatsYourGoal campaign.

And who was there to meet Christina and introduce her to her special day?

None other than Patrick Sharp.

“I can barely believe what’s happening. It’s the best moment of my life,” said the girl, who was born with many challenges. “I’m so happy.”

Her dream came to the team’s attention after her family set up a fundraising page late last year to try to raise the money necessary to buy tickets to the often-sold-out games.

Hockey fan or not, you can’t help but be moved by this Blackhawks’ video, which has been viewed more than 1.2 million times. “I’m a grown man. I’m not supposed to weep like a baby,” said one fan after seeing the video on the team’s Facebook page.
