Pop In For Sweets, Treats And Bread At Misericordia Pop-Up At BAC

Add something special to your holiday table at Misericordia's Christmas Pop-Up store Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 at the Beverly Arts Center.

CHICAGO — South Siders can shop early for Christmas treats or add something special to their Thanksgiving feast when Misericordia’s Christmas Pop-Up Shop returns to the Beverly Arts Center, 2407 W. 111th St., Chicago.

The pop-up shop will be open from noon to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. Ample parking is available in the BAC lot.

Baked goods and other treats made by more than 80 residents include Misericordia’s Hearts & Flour Bakery’s signature Brownie Hearts, plus a variety of breads, including the Irish Soda bread declared “spectacular” by North Shore Magazine. Other favorites featured are fudge and peppermint bark, toffee, caramel and Cajun crunch, pretzel trees and spiced pecans. In addition, boxes of Christmas cards featuring artwork by residents are available.

“Misericordia is a vital part of the 19th Ward community,” said Ald. Matt O’Shea. “The support they provide our residents is invaluable, so we are thrilled any time we can return that support. Plus, their baked goods are not to be missed.”

The Misericordia Hearts and Flour Bakery creates job opportunities for Misericordia residents. Their treats have become a holiday staple for many South Side-area households as a treasured gift or part of a holiday feast.
