CHICAGO — Locally grown pumpkins and flowers, plus sweets from popular vendors will be on tap at Smith Village’s Farmers Market, Friday, Sept. 23. The farmers market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – rain or shine – in the parking lot along 113th Place east of South Western Avenue.

In addition to Smith Village’s lemonade and popcorn stand to benefit Emilie’s Fund, which provides for residents who outlive their means, highlights include Misericordia Hearts and Flour Bakery, Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences’ recently harvested pumpkins, and a variety of mums and fall plants from Schaefer’s Greenhouse.

Neighbors can also purchase honey from Nisse Farms, pie from Pierre’s Bakery and iced coffee brewed by Elara Caring. Proceeds from the Elara Caring coffee sales will also benefit Emilie’s Fund.
