Relief On Way for 19th Ward Potholes
Badly damaged section of 99th Street also slated for repaving, Ald. Matt O'Shea says.
In the next month the 19th Ward should be looking less like the surface of the moon as City of Chicago crews fan out across the city to patch the winter’s potholes.
Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) announced that asphalt plants are now open and city crews are using hot-patch asphalt to fill in potholes.
Hot-patch is more durable and will last longer than the temporary cold patch that is used in winter months.

Residents who notice potholes or they have already reported them and the temporary patch has already come up, contact Ald. O’Shea’s office by email at ward19@cityofchicago.org.
In addition to filling potholes, the city will also be repaving some of the 19th Ward’s worst streets this summer, including the badly damaged 99th Street, from Western Avenue to the 19th Ward boundary at Charles Street, O’Shea said in an email to constituents.
