Ridge Run Needs Volunteers: Here's How You Can Help

Help with packet pickup and course marshals are sought for the Memorial Day race in Beverly/Morgan Park.

CHICAGO - The Beverly Area Planning Association is seeking volunteers for this year's Ridge Run. Held annually on the morning of Memorial Day, the Ridge Run is the city of Chicago's oldest 10K race and in recent years has added a 5K distance and kids races. The event is immediately followed by the Beverly-Morgan Park-Mt. Greenwood neighborhood Memorial Day Parade. ALSO ON PATCH: Tim Noonan Named Grand Marshal Of Memorial Day Parade

BAPA sent a call-out Tuesday seeking volunteers for the Ridge Run. They need course marshals and people to help with day-of registration and packet pickup. Course marshals are needed to help along the route between 7:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on Monday, May 27 and packet pickup help is needed earlier between 6-9 a.m.

"Whether you’re looking for credit or service hours for school, a snazzy new volunteer tee-shirt, or just want to spend a few hours helping out your neighbors, we’d love to have you, and we look forward to seeing you soon," BAPA wrote in its call-out.
