The man who led the effort to restore the World War I monument in the Dan Ryan Woods will be honored on Memorial Day.

CHICAGO - Tim Noonan, the North Beverly neighborhood man who headed the effort to restore a World War I monument in the Dan Ryan Woods, will be the Grand Marshal of the 2019 Memorial Day Parade in Beverly/Morgan Park according to an item in the Beverly Area Planning Association's The Villager. The parade, set for Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m., follows the Ridge Run 10K and 5K races and honors the men and woman who fought and died for our freedom.
BAPA also announced that the Road Home Program Center for Veterans and their families at Rush University Medical Center will be the parade's presenting sponsor.

Noonan is the founder of the Chicago Council of Gold Star Mothers. He started the non-profit organization a few years ago when an abandoned monument dedicated to the Gold Star Mothers was found among the shrubs during a clearing out of the Dan Ryan Woods.
