Smash and Grab Crew Heists Blackhawks Jerseys From South Loop Store
Thieves left hammer behind used to shatter glass door of downtown Lids store early Thursday morning, cops said.

Three men wearing masks and dark clothing smashed a South Loop store window and grabbed dozens of Blackhawks jerseys.
Chicago Police said the early morning smash and grab happened around 4 a.m. Thursday. The trio shattered a glass door at the Lids store at 125 S. State Street, connected to the Palmer House Hilton, WGN Ch. 9 News reported.

The men grabbed every Blackhawks jersey they could find, fleeing with 49 jerseys. Unlike other smash and grab jobs, the crew that pulled off the Lids heist left evidence behind -- the hammer used to smash the store’s glass door, police said.
Blackhawks premier jerseys retail for $170 on the Lids website. Police are reviewing store security video.
