CHICAGO — Discover tasty treats, local fruits, vegetables and sweets from top vendors at the Smith Village Farmers Market Friday, Aug. 20. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, in the parking lot at the northwest corner of 113th Place and Oakley Avenue.
In addition to Smith Village’s new stand serving lemonade, popcorn and flowers from Mariano’s to benefit Emilie’s Fund, tasty highlights include Misericordia Hearts and Flour Bakery,
Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences’ honey, Urban Canopy’s truck loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables, Nisse Farms’ honey, Fat Tommy’s donuts and Sweet Freaks’ crêpes.
Visitors can enjoy their treats at umbrella tables and relax with the music of saxophonist Gerald Holden or take their purchases to go.
