Accused Killer Tried To Order Hits On Prosecutor, Witness: Cops

CHICAGO — Trevon Clark, the man accused of murder in the 2018 death of Mount Greenwood resident and nursing student Karalynn McNicholas, faces new charges on accusations he tried to have a prosecutor and witness in the case killed. Cook County Sheriff's police learned earlier this month that Clark was trying to find a hitman and on June 18 said Clark met with an undercover Sheriff's officer pretending to be one.

Clark, 21 offered to pay the undercover officer $5,000 to kill the two people — who according to the Chicago Sun-Times were a prosecutor and witness involved in the McNicholas murder case — according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office. He now faces additional charges: two counts of solicitation of murder and two counts of solicitation of murder for hire.

"It just completes the picture of what a disturbed individual he really is," Christine McNicholas, Kara's mother, said of the new information being released.

Kara McNicholas, who was 18 at the time of her death in May 2018, was found strangled to death in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood. Clark was charged last August with murder and possession of a stolen vehicle in connection to her death.
