Southsiders for Peace Stage Pro-Impeachment Rally Tuesday Eve

CHICAGO, IL — Hundreds of thousands of people across the country will take to the streets in support of impeaching and removing President Donald Trump from office on the eve of the U.S. House of Representatives’ expected vote on Wednesday.

The grass-roots social justice group Southsiders for Peace will be convening on the corner of 103rd Street and Western Avenue at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Last week, two articles of impeachment against President Trump were approved by a House panel. The articles accuse the president of abuse of power linked to the Ukraine scandal and obstruction of Congress, alleging that Trump "has directed the unprecedented, categorical, and indiscriminate defiance of subpoenas issued by the House of Representatives pursuant to its 'sole Power of Impeachment.'"

Over 600 “Nobody Is Above the Law” events are being organized by MoveOn.org which is calling the rallies a “historic nationwide mobilization.”
