St. Rita Wins Big, Stays Alive in the Playoff Race; Brother Rice Goes Home: Photos

St. Rita will advance in the IHSA playoffs, and Brother Rice’s season is over. The Mustangs beat Plainfield East, 35-21, Friday night in the Class 7A opening round. St. Rita scored twice in the fourth quarter to put the game away. Brother Rice, meanwhile, in the Comcast Game of the Week against Naperville Central, led twice in the game, 14-0 and 21-7. But Naperville Central battled back in the second half to put the Crusaders down with a final score of 34-21.
