State Reps. Burke and Hurley Offer FREE Self Defense Seminar for Women
RSVP for this free. women's self-defense seminar hosted by your state lawmakers on Oct. 4 at Saint Xavier University.

CHICAGO, IL -- State Reps. Kelly Burke (36th District) and Fran Hurley (35th District) are teaming up with Sen. Bill Cunningham (18th District) to host a FREE Women’s Self Defense Seminar on Oct. 4 starting at 7 p.m. The seminar will be held at Saint Xavier University’s Chicago campus in the Shannon Center at 3700 W. 103rd St. A trained law enforcement officer will lead this introductory seminar.
“No one should have to feel vulnerable to criminals, so I want to give women in our area the information they need to protect themselves,” Burke said. “This introductory seminar will provide women of all ages the techniques they need to defend themselves.”
The free seminar is aimed at increasing awareness and keeping women safe. The fun, interactive seminar provides introductory information on how women can protect themselves from assailants. Due to limited space, RSVPs are requested. To reserve a spot, please email smkerwin@kellyburkerep36.org.

“I am encouraging women of all ages to come to this free event and learn how they can avoid becoming a victim,” Burke said. “I hope everyone can make it out to this self-defense seminar.”
