SXU Homecoming: Full Schedule For Saturday

CHICAGO, IL - Homecoming is this weekend at Saint Xavier University. Events are planned throughout the day on Saturday for alums, both local and from afar, to celebrate their Cougar pride. SXU Alumni Relations released the full schedule of activities for Saturday, Sept. 22 in an email to alums this week.

The fun starts at 9 a.m. with the 18th annual Cougar 5K Run/Walk, a fast and flat 3.1-mile course that starts and ends on campus and goes through much of Evergreen Park.

At 11 a.m., there will be the Cougars' Corner Tailgate Tent and Family Fun Zone near Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field, the school's football stadium.

Kickoff for the football game pitting SXU against the University of Saint Francis (Indiana) is 1 p.m.

After the game, head across 103rd Street to Gilhooley's Grande Saloon for their Fifth Quarter Party, which will include post-game specials.

Anyone looking to continue the celebration into the evening at 115 Bourbon Street will have their cover fee waived as long as they are wearing Cougar gear.

Other events part of Homecoming week prior to Saturday include a Homecoming liturgy on Wednesday and "Student Media Alumnipalooza" on Thursday.
