Saint Xavier University (SXU) proudly will host their first-ever St. Baldrick’s Day event on Thursday, March 26 from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Shannon Center located on SXU’s Chicago Campus, 3700 W. 103rd Street. During the event, a 14-year old, Oak Lawn resident will be honored alongside his family and surrounding local community members. This event is open to the public and will have raffle prizes, music, food, and fun for people of all ages to enjoy!
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is an organization that raises money for childhood cancer research. At the event, people will shave their heads in solidarity with children who are battling cancer in exchange for donations of support from family and friends. The funds that are raised are distributed to hospitals and research institutions across the country to fund cutting-edge, life-saving research.
