Teen Boy Shot and Killed in Washington Heights Tuesday
Friends say 17-year-old James Moore wanted to be a boxer. He was gunned down behind a home on Peoria Street Tuesday.

Chicago, IL — A teenage boy from the city's Washington Heights neighborhood was shot and killed Tuesday morning behind a home in the neighborhood.
James R. Moore, 17, of the 10800 block of South Sangamon Street, was one of several shooting victims in Chicago on Tuesday, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Police responded to 109th and Peoria to a call of shots fired around 12:06 p.m. and found Moore dead behind a home there. He was shot several times.

A friend of Moore’s said the victim wanted to be a professional boxer.
“He had the hands to prove it,” Kei Ieong wrote on Facebook. “I remember him telling everyone that he would be the next (Floyd) Mayweather.”
