Teen Robbed At Gunpoint On Way Home From Football Practice

Police arrested two juveniles Tuesday night after a 16-year-old was robbed at gunpoint near 101st and Aberdeen in Washington Heights.

CHICAGO, IL - A teenager who was walking home from football practice Tuesday evening was robbed at gunpoint in the city's Washington Heights neighborhood. 22nd District Police announced the arrests of two juveniles in association with the crime reported at 7:20 p.m.

The 16-year-old victim, a student, was near the corner of 101st and Aberdeen when he was robbed, according to police. It wasn't immediately known what the attackers fled with.

Police found five people in the area and took them into custody shortly after the armed robbery. Three were released without charges while the two juveniles face counts related to armed robbery with a firearm.

This gun crime was the first of two reported in the 22nd Police District Tuesday night. A few hours later, police took five people into custody in connection with an armed robbery at the 7-11 store at 103rd and Sawyer in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood.

Charges weren't announced as of early Wednesday afternoon in the 7-11 case.
