Thieves Hit Cars Shopping Plaza Parking Lot
Three car break-ins reported at Marshfield Plaza, cops say.

Thieves have been breaking into cars at the Marshfield Plaza Shopping Center at 11730 S Marshfield Ave in Morgan Park.
Morgan Park 22nd District police say the thief or thieves have used a pry tool to force open car doors and swipe the property inside, while shoppers are inside stores.
The thefts happened between 4 and 7 p.m. One car was broken into Feb. 6; two cars were broken into on Feb. 11.

Police ask shoppers and employees to report any suspicious people or activity in the parking lot to police and store security.

- Always remember to Lock your vehicle at all times.
- Do not keep anything of value in your vehicle that can be viewed from the outside, especially portable GPS units, cell phone chargers, purses, briefcases, loose change.
- Park your car in a secure garage or well-lit area.
- Keep a record of any serial numbers listed on your property, especially electronics.
- Consider installing an audible alarm in your vehicle.
Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people
including any vehicle description and license plate information.
