Thieves Target Ford Econoline Vans in Beverly, Morgan Park
Work vans are coveted by thieves for tools and equipment they contain, 22nd District police say.

Police said thieves are targeting Ford Econoline vans parked on residential streets, coveted for the tools and equipment they commonly contain.

Four vans have been stolen during the early morning hours between midnight and 7:30 a.m.:
- 10500 Block of Artesian Avenue on Jan. 29-30, 2016
- 9800 Block of Damen Avenue on Jan. 28, 2016
- 9700 Block of Seeley Avenue on Jan. 28, 2016
- 11400 Block of Talman Avenue on Dec. 1, 2015
To protect work vans and thwart potential thieves, police recommend:

- To keep vehicles locked and consider installing an audible alarm;
- Consider parking vehicles in a secured garage;
- Keep a record of serial numbers, makes and models for tools and equipment for insurance and investigative purposes;
- Be aware and alert neighbors in the area about the thefts;
- Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of suspicious people, including vehicle description and license plate information.
