Thieves Targeting Copper Downspouts In Beverly Area
The 22nd Police District says eight copper downspouts have been reported stolen this month.

Thieves are going around Beverly stealing copper downspouts in the early morning hours while residents are sleeping, police say.
The 22nd Police District sent out a community alert warning residents to be on the lookout for copper downspout thieves working the neighborhood.
Police say that eight recent burglary incidents have occurred in Beverly this June. In each incident, the unknown thief has pulled downspouts from homes.

The area where the thefts has occurred is between Western-Longwood, in the 9000 to 10700 blocks.
A suspect seen taking the downspout in one incident was described as a male black, 5-feet-8-inches tall, around 170 pounds and wearing a white t-shirt. He was seen fleeing the scene in a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Buick sedan, which had a tan colored door on the passenger side, and a loud exhaust system.
