Unloaded Gun Found at Kellogg School
Firearm believed to belong to student's parent who is in law enforcement, alderman says.

An unloaded gun was found in a student’s book bag at Kellogg Elementary School on Tuesday.
In an email blast to residents, Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) said a student at the K-8 grammar school spotted an unloaded revolver in the student’s book bag and told school administrators.
“I talked to police and CPS student safety. Both did a tremendous job of getting to school and getting the situation under control,” O’Shea said. “The student did not wave the gun or display it. Kids were not in harm’s way.”
