CHICAGO – As a tribute to veterans and active service members, State Rep. Fran Hurley (D-Chicago) is giving proud families an opportunity to show off their favorite photos of loved ones from the military.

How do I vote?

Voting is easy. Visit www.franhurley.com and at the top of the home page, click on PHOTO CONTEST. When you arrive to the photo contest page, each photo is marked with a number. Simply send an email to franhurley35@gmail.com with subject line “online photo contest”. In the body of your email, please indicate the # photo you vote for.

Each person is allowed to submit one vote between now and November 9, 2014. Thanks for voting!

“This is a great way for us to honor our heroes,” said Hurley. “These are the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms we enjoy and they deserve to be recognized for that commitment.”

Monetary prizes will be awarded to the three photos that receive the most on-line votes. First, second and third place winners will be announced on Veteran’s Day, November 11th.

“The willingness of America’s veterans to sacrifice for our country merits our deepest respect, and I look forward to showcasing the photos that families want to share.”

*no taxpayer funds will be used for the awarding of prizes
