Video Released Of Armed Robberies in Beverly, CPD Seeks Tips
Chicago police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in two armed robberies near 99th Street and Western Avenue.

CHICAGO — Chicago police are asking the public for tips in solving two armed robberies that took place in the Beverly neighborhood. 22nd District police released security video from one of the robberies that showed the suspect robbing a man in the parking lot after he followed out the man out of the mini mart.
The robberies happened near 99th Street and Western Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Dec. 29, 2021. The second robbery occurred just after 11:30 p.m. Feb. 22. Police said the suspect displayed a handgun.
Police are trying to identify the suspect, described as a heavyset African American male,, between 5-feet-8 and 5-feet-10-inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask, black and gray plaid jacket with ripped chest pockets, black sweatpants and tan boots.

Security video of the Dec. 29 robbery released by police showed the customer standing by the door when the suspect entered the store. The suspect walks around the store until the customer leaves. He follows the customer out the door without purchasing anything, and thanks the store clerk as he leaves.
When the customer is walking back to his car in the parking lot, the video shows the suspect tussling with him behind the customer’s car. The suspect flees on foot after pocketing the customer’s belongings, according to the video provided d by police.

Police said the suspect fled on foot eastbound on foot down 100th Street.
