CHICAGO (MT. GREENWOOD) — Some Mount Greenwood neighborhood residents will be without home water service for several hours on Monday after a main broke in the 11000 block of South Spaulding Avenue this morning. Workers from the city's department of water management were informing residents in the area that the shutoff will begin at 9:30 a.m. and could last up to five hours.

"It could be most of the day," one employee said.

Streets affected include the 11000 block of Spaulding, the 11000 block of Sawyer and 110th Place between Spaulding and Kedzie. Residents should fill up pots and pans with water to have handy while the shutoff is still in effect.
