West Pullman Native in Porchlight’s Latest Streamed Concert

West Pullman Native to host "New Faces Sing Broadway 1947" at Porchlight Music Theatre, streaming April 8 to May 6.

West Pullman native Robin DaSilva will host New Faces Sing Broadway 1947 at Porchlight Music Theatre, which highlights the next generation of talent, alongside nine other up and coming performers. Audiences can expect to be taken on a 90 minute musical journey of the 1947 Broadway season through song, historic information, trivia and sing alongs. New Faces will be available for streaming beginning Friday, April 8 at 12 p.m. CDT through Thursday, May 5 at 11:59 p.m. CDT.

Robin DaSilva is a graduate of Chicago Academy of the Arts, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Berklee College of Music, and has a Master of Arts from Saint Xavier University. Her Chicago credits include Women of Soul at Mercury Theater and Ain't Misbehavin' at Porchlight Music Theatre. DaSilva was the recipient of both Jeff and Black Theater Alliance Awards in 2019.

New Faces Sing Broadway 1947 is directed by Adrian Abel Azevedo, with music direction by Linda Madonia and was filmed on-site at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts where Porchlight Music Theatre is an in-resident organization. Now in its 27th season, Porchlight Music Theatre is the award-winning center for music theatre in Chicago. Porchlight has built a national reputation for boldly reimagining classic musicals, supporting new works and young performers, and showcasing Chicago’s most notable music theatre artists, all through the intimate and powerful theatrical lens of the “Chicago Style.” Porchlight’s commitment to the past, present and future of music theatre led the company to develop this New Faces Sing Broadway program series.
