Zeshan B Comes To Beverly Arts Center June 22

Nationally known Chicago artist Zeshan B, who gave us "the anthem for modern protesters," will bring his band's tour to Beverly.

CHICAGO, IL - Another big name artist is coming to the Beverly Arts Center. Zeshan Bagewadi, one of the Rolling Stone’s 10 New Artists You Need to Know, will perform at the venue beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 22 with his group Zeshan B and the Transistors.

Zeshan B was brought into the limelight last year with his "Vetted" album that charted at No. 8 on Billboard's Top Ten Albums for World Music. His hit single, a cover of George Perkins’ 1970 civil rights-inspired “Cryin’ in the Streets,” has resonated with the modern era's social justice and political issues and has earned high praise from American Songwriter, which called it “an anthem for modern protesters.”

The concert at the BAC later this month will mix Memphis R&B, Chicago Blues and the sounds of Bagewadi’s roots in India and Pakistan. The show will be part of the Zeshan B and the Transistors tour that has already stopped at Lincoln Center in New York and will play at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee before coming to Chicago.

The band is comprised of mostly local talent. Zeshan B himself is a Chicago native.
