
BOLINGBROOK, IL - A domestic violence murder-suicide in Bolingbrook on Thursday morning has left one 44-year-old Plainfield man dead and a woman slain, Bolingbrook Police said. The police department said the crime happened at 7:49 a.m. in the 200 block of Douglass Way.
According to police, Aswad Bryant, 44, from the 3600 block of Twin Falls, Plainfield shot the victim before shooting himself. The offender died on scene from a single self-inflicted gunshot. Officers are still on the scene of the murder-suicide. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of family members, police said. The crime involved a domestic disturbance, police said.
"Outside the home a male subject pushed a female to the ground and a gunshot was heard," a police press statement indicates. "Upon arrival officers observed one (person) down in the yard. A second (person), also in the yard, armed with a handgun, shot himself. The female victim was transported to an area hospital but died from a gunshot wound inflicted by the offender, Aswad Bryant."
