Armed Bank Robbers Tie Up Employees In Bolingbrook: FBI

Huntington Bank was robbed late Tuesday morning, days after the Bank of America was also robbed in Bolingbrook, according to the FBI.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — An armed bank robbery was reported at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday in Bolingbrook, the FBI confirmed to Patch. The FBI responded to Huntington Bank, 333 Quadrangle Drive, where employees had been tied up by three armed robbers.

According to the FBI, all three men were armed with handguns and demanded money.

No injuries were reported, the FBI said.

One robber was dressed as a mailman and carrying a mailbag, another wore red clothing and the third wore a blue sweatshirt and a high-visibility vest, the FBI said. All the robbers wore face masks.

The three men fled the bank in a car, according to the FBI.

It's the second bank robbery in Bolingbrook in the last few days. According to the FBI, two men robbed the Bank of America at 111 Lily Cache Lane on Saturday, Nov. 12. In that incident, one robber wore a black beanie hat, red face covering, black bomber-style jacket and red pants. The other wore a gray trucker-style hat, glasses, black face covering, black jacket, and black pants.

The FBI said the Bank of America robbers should be considered armed and dangerous.

The crimes are the latest in a rash of bank robberies in the Chicago area. Last week, a Lockport man was arrested and charged in connection with three bank robberies along Route 59 in the Plainfield and Joliet areas.
