Bolingbrook Chamber preparing to honor area businesses

Best of Bolingbrook Business Awards and Gala is March 12

The Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce congratulates the 89 finalists for the annual Best of Bolingbrook Business (BOBB) Awards and Gala.

“Every year we celebrate the businesses and nonprofits in the Chamber,” said Executive Director Kevin O’Keeffe. “With over 600 businesses in the Bolingbrook Area Chamber we are particularly proud of the 89 finalists.”

The finalists were nominated across 11 categories; the winners are announced Thursday, March 12 during the BOBB Awards Dinner and Gala at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.

“It’s very much like the Academy Awards,” said O’Keeffe. “With secret judging and sealed envelopes with the winners’ names. We even have local comic Jim Flanigan this year as our emcee.”

The BOBB Awards and Gala is also when the Chamber recognizes Milestone achievements among its memberships.

“We recognize those businesses that have been long supporters of the Chamber,” said O’Keeffe. “We have over 90 businesses celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years with the Bolingbrook Area Chamber.”

The evening also includes a theme; this year it’s “The 1950s: Era of Business & Innovation.”

“Post-war America was the birthplace of so many businesses including Walmart, Dunkin’ Donuts, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Denny’s, Ross Stores, Pizza Hut, to name a few,” said O’Keeffe.

The Best of Bolingbrook Business Awards and Gala starts at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. The evening includes live entertainment, a sit-down dinner and cash bar.
