Bolingbrook High School College, Trade and Career Fair is Feb. 12

Bolingbrook High School sophomores, junior and seniors will have an opportunity to learn more about life after high school at the annual BHS College, Trade and Career Fair Thursday, Feb. 12.

Featuring nearly two dozen colleges and universities as well as representatives from more than 20 trade and career groups and all seven branches of the military, the fair is designed to help students explore their options for the future.

Scheduled to attend are Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western Illinois; Illinois State University, Purdue University-Calumet, Benedictine University, Columbia University, Concordia University, Fox College, North Central College, St. Francis University, Saint Xavier University, Rasmussen College, Illinois Institute of Art, Academy of Art University, Judson University, Kendall College, Chicagoland Regional College Program, College of DuPage, Joliet Junior College and DeVry University.

Among trade representatives will be Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders & Blacksmiths Local 1; Illinois Welding School; International Brotherhoods of Electrical Workers #176; Mechanics Local 701; Pipefitters Local 597; Machinery Movers, Riggers and Erectors Local 136; and Sheet Metal Workers Local 265.

Industry representatives will include Citgo, Exelon, MKD Electric and STARCON.

Others attending include Chick-fil-A of Bolingbrook, WJOL Radio, the Regency Beauty Institute, Royal Image Barber College, Stars Academy School of Phlebotomy, Tricoci University for Cosmetology and Universal Technical Institute.

Carpentry, bricklayers, laborers, roofing, waterproofing and meat cutting representatives are also scheduled.

The event will take place from 10:15 a.m. until just after 1 p.m.
