Bolingbrook HS Teacher to Be Honored at Conference

Bolingbrook High School Heritage Spanish teacher Nancy Dominguez will receive the “New Teacher Award” at the Illinois Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages fall conference Oct. 16 in Tinley Park.

Dominguez, who came to Valley View three years ago after teaching Spanish as a Second Language at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was the first person in her family to obtain a college degree. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Teaching of Spanish from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Masters in Spanish Linguistics from University of Wisconsin.

The ICTFL Award for New Teachers of Foreign Language recognizes individuals who have recently entered the foreign language teaching profession who show outstanding promise of becoming professionally active ICTFL members, as well as capable teachers of foreign languages, including English as a second language.
