Bolingbrook HS, Tibbot Students Create Art for DuPage Children's Museum

BHS students drew heads and Tibbott students added the bodies and wrote descriptions of their artwork which will be on display at the Naperville museum this summer.

Summertime visitors to the DuPage Children’s Museum in Naperville will be able to view an art exhibit co-created by students at Bolingbrook High School and Tibbott Elementary School.

The Shared Vision Drawings exhibit, which is part of the BMO Harris-sponsored Good Show Gallery Project at the Children’s Museum, will go on display in mid-May and remain there through August.

Several weeks ago, Bolingbrook High School art students created heads of characters of their choosing. On Tuesday, Museum Public Program Manager Marsha McCrae and Rafael Rodriguez, general manager of Bolingbrook-based Goya Foods of Illinois, visited six Tibbott classrooms to work with more than 100 students who added bodies to the artwork as well as written descriptions.

The final works of art will be unveiled May 23 at an art reception for the BHS and Tibbott students and their families.
